Nothing can ruin a vacation like sore feet and blisters. Really comfortable shoes are so important when you're away from home, especially when your goal is to travel light. But comfort alone can lead to dowdy looking shoes. Balancing personal style, the shape of the body, and harmony in color are also factors to consider. We don't have to throw these factors out the window when we're on vacation just because comfort becomes a priority. My favorite pair of summer shoes are a 2 inch wedge sandal with two-toned straps in cinnamon leather and tan elastic with jute around the heel. Yes, they are hammered and need to be replaced! In considering what it is I like about them, it's much easier to replace them with another pair... even if I can't find the exact shoe again. I know I like the color because it's so versatile. The height is perfect because it gives me a lift and looks great with pants that are a titch long. The wedge style is super comfortable. What's your most comfortable pair of shoes? What is it that you like about them? Are they as hammered as mine? That's a sign of a good shoe, worth dissecting the details of for repeated success. I've put together a list of 50 great looking shoes that are comfortable but also have a slight heel. A heel of 2" is enough to lift the bootie and lengthen the leg without putting too much pressure on the ball of your foot. Some of the shoes are more relaxed and some are more tailored, but all of them are comfortable. With summer right around the corner, and vacations ahead, a little advanced planning will help you break in your next favorite pair of shoes you love to wear all day long. Shop Summer Shoes |
