Yes! Especially when it’s still warm outside. Wearing white is a great way to feel sunny and bright, just like the weather. The rule about not wearing white after Labor Day is more of a guideline anyway....cue Pirates of the Caribbean. Wearing white is absolutely appropriate until the weather changes, unless you prefer to channel your inner pirate. In which case you’ll wear white all year long. What is the logic behind the rule....er guideline?
Dark colors absorb the light, making you feel warmer. It’s not about Labor Day, it’s about the annual temperature change. In theory, it’s just after Labor Day when temperatures get cooler and we opt for warmer clothes. Warmer fall to winter clothes are generally darker, reflecting darker skies. The gorgeous color of our mountains is telling us that cooler temps are coming. But there’s no reason to ditch your white, here are five ways to wear it all winter long.
1- Go monochromatic- mix white, winter white and camel.
2- Add a layer.
3- Vary the fabric textures.
4- Wear white with tall boots.
5- Add a touch of black.
